Zusammenfassung: For deaf people there is not only an almost closed channel of communication to be compensated or to be opened, these people have significantly diverging communicative needs and competences, compared to hearing people. Although technical support of deaf is highly relevant, solutions which only make spoken language 'visible' by means of writing or tend to compensate the difficulties of spontaneous oral communication by a less spontaneous one (again writing) are not sufficient. Proposals for better solutions are presented.
